One year ago I was absolutely in love with M.I.A's song "Jimmy" and some days ago, I found this cover version of one of my favourite US Indie Bands "of Montreal". The weird thing is - M.I.A covered this song (she took it from a Bollywood-movie) and "of Montreal" managed to give it an interesting twist.
Anyway, here are some great coversongs...with links to the original versions, enjoy :)
of Montral - Jimmy (M.I.A Cover)
Vienna Teng - Cannonball (Damien Rice Cover)
really nice cover :)
Scissor Sisters - Comfortably Numb (Pink Floyd Cover)
some people will hate me for that...but I like their cover :-X I know that a lot of Pink Floyd fans hate it and think it's terrible..but come on, it's totally different from the original Version and it's just a "fun song".
Sam Sparro - American Boy (Estelle Cover)
Estelle's song seems to be everywhere right now...I like his version more, I must say...
Rufus Wainwright - Chelsea Hotel (Leonard Cohen Cover)
I could have posted his well-known cover of Halleluliah, but I decided to share this wonderful song with you...
Fiona Apple - I want you (Elvis Costello Cover)
together with Elvis Costello...very powerful!
Tori Amos - Lovesong (The Cure Cover)
She has a lot of amazing covers (I prefer her Version of Eminem's '97 Bonnie&Clyde and Nirvana's Smells like Teenspirit :P ) and this one is...unbelievable.
well, of course there are many many more good covers out there...feel free to post some of your favourites as a comment ;)
